Will Rogers Solution to Social Security Tax Problems

April 14, 2011

Yes Siree: I collect when I die

Thank you Will.  Great idea.

“The solution to the deficit is to tie the Social Security Retirement age to the Average Life Expectancy.

It be the solution too for Medicare and Medicaid, and generally, all the government spending programs.

Only really healthy people will collect.  If you exercise, drive carefully, look both ways before crossing, keep your eyes peeled to the sky avoiding falling satellites and bird droppings, lift only what you can, work as hard as you can, and don’t smoke, drink, or carouse then there is a 50/50 chance you will collect.

For those of us who don’t live healthy, eat potato chips, like the couch, use the remote, watch our feet from the recliner, and let the other spouse walk the dog: don’t worry, your spouse will collect your share.

Each person thus living beyond the average life expectancy will get twice as much.  So, let’s double the benefit, and peg the retirement age to your life expectancy.
